Being a passionate hobby model airplane maker himself, proprietor Karlheinz Leuze had the idea to start the project. The following planes are built in teamwork by all apprentices of LEUKA:
1 Airbus A400 M - airworthy on a scale of 1:25
1 Airbus A400 M - show and tell object on a scale of 1:25
1 Transall - airworthy on a scale of 1:15
The project was initiated by building the Airbus A 400 M.
Divers metal parts, carbon tubes, PVC plastic and natural beech and balsa plywood boards are some of the required materials and supplies. The parts of metal, carbon and plastic are milled and machined directly at the machines- the rods of the A 400 M, for example, are milled from PVC plastic.
Our apprentices
- learn to work effectively in teams
- acquire problem solving competences
- gain insight into an airplane’s physical conditions
- are involved in the complete process
- practice the economic process with internal resources
- adopt specific concepts of the aircraft industry
(e.g. airfoils, body, planking, horizontal and vertical tail, rods, landing gear joint,…)
